The Edmonton Riptides Water Polo Club is sad to announce that Raine Paul will be stepping down as Head Coach at the end of the 2022 spring season. Raine has acted as the Riptides Head Coach since its creation in 2020 and has played a pivotal role in the Edmonton water polo community since 2015. Raine has decided to step back as Head Coach to pursue other career opportunities but hopes to continue to stay involved with the Riptides coaching team next season.

WORD

Raine has been instrumental to the Riptides club through her dynamic, passionate and modern approach to coaching. Through a variety of recruitment initiatives and a commitment to coach mentorship, Riptides has quickly become a successful and thriving club in Alberta. The culture we have at Riptides is a direct result of Raine living those values on a daily basis and leading by example every time she steps on the pool deck.

WORD

We are very sad to see Raine move on but also so thankful for the impact she has had on the water polo community in Edmonton. Raine has been instrumental in growing the sport and creating a new coaching culture in Edmonton. In particular her work on establishing Riptides as a new club for the younger age groups has set Edmonton up for growth and success for years to come. We know she put her whole heart and soul into developing our athletes, coaches and water polo in Edmonton. We are grateful for her contribution and look forward to keeping connected with her as she helps us transition to new leadership. Thanks, Raine!”
