LEVEL 1

RIPTIDES CUP

Every Saturday U10, U12 and U14 athletes will play a mini-game at practice. Athletes are split into teams each week as they gain confidence putting their skills into action and learning the rules of the game!

LEVEL 2

CITY LEAGUE

On a monthly basis Riptide U10, U12 and U14 teams play in the Edmonton City League! During these games Riptide athletes will have the chance to play two games against other Edmonton Zone clubs. No score is taken at these events and it is a great opportunity for athletes to work together with their teammates and have fun!

LEVEL 3

PROVINCIAL LEAGUE

The highest competition level that Riptides competes in is the Alberta Provincial League. This level is for U12 and U14 teams from around the province and will consist of games in Edmonton, Innisfail, Calgary and Okotoks. Still focusing on athlete development, teamwork and game experience, Riptide teams will compete in the Alberta Provincial Championships in April each year.

LEVEL 4

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP LEAGUE

The highest level of water polo competition in Canada is the NCL. The NCL offers competition for U15, U17, U19 and Senior teams. While Riptides does not compete at this level, our sister club the Edmonton Tsunami does! Tsunami is the oldest club in Edmonton and has had countless teams medal at the Western and National Championships. Many Tsunami athletes have also gone on to play for Team Alberta, Team Canada, and at university programs.
