U8 PUPS PROGRAM
For the 2024-2025 season this is athletes born in 2017 - 2018
The Riptides U8 Pups Program combines swim lessons with the exciting, team sport of water polo! Unlike swim lessons, our U8 classes run for 60-minutes with half the time devoted to swimming development and the other half working on water polo basics. Taking place in shallow water, our U8 team focuses on their water comfortably, swim stroke development and hand-eye coordination as they work through our Swim Like A Dolphin report card system.
Water polo is a great opportunity for young athletes to build confidence in the water, work in a team environment and challenge themselves both mentally and physically. Our U8 class takes runs once a week with monthly opportunities for gameplay through inter-club and city-wide games. We support our athletes to take risks, try new things and celebrate together as they grow as both athletes and people.
U8 is the perfect place for athletes to try water polo for the first time and we hope to see you at the pool soon!

Connecting with the Edmonton Riptides water polo club was one of the best decisions we have made for our daughter. She has fallen in love with the sport due in no small part to the talented, passionate and committed Riptides staff and coaches.
