U14 Success at 2024 Provincials
Our u14 teams had great success this past weekend at provincials, winning two medals!
Our u14 girls teal team had an abundance of success this season and went into provincials placed first. With a close first half in the semi-final game, the girls were able to come together and win moving them into the final game. Heading into the finals coach Emily and the u14 girls were excited to to play in the first place game, where they went on to win 15-4 and clinch GOLD for the weekend.
Our u14 boys teal team came into the weekend fourth which meant they had to play (and win) a preliminary game if they wanted to advance to the semi-finals. The boys came into the game ready to play and won, advancing them to the semi-finals….where they had to play the first ranked team (who they had not beat yet this season) if they wanted to advance to the finals. It was an uphill battle and after a grooling first half the Riptides boys were down by 4 goals. With Coach Emily leading the way the boys came together and managed to fight their way to a 12-11 win, advancing them to the final game! The u14 boys fought hard and were able to clinch the SILVER medal at provincials, the biggest improvement of any riptides team this season!
Both our u14 girls/boys blue teams were made up of our u12 and younger u14 players. Both of these teams really focused on development this year and boy did it pay off. Our girls blue team was able to have their closest game ever with the fourth ranked team, and came out of the game excited with their improvements. Our boys blue team was able to score 5 goals in their game against the fourth place team and showed everyone their improvements and love for the game. Riptides is thrilled with the development and improvements that these two teams showed over the course of the season!
