Q & A with Coach Gabby

Q: How did you first start playing water polo?

A: I started playing water polo because I had a friend who played and loved the sport!

Q: What is it about water polo that made you fall in love with the sport?

A: I love that water polo has given me the opportunity to travel to places such as California and New York! I also fell in love with my team, and will forever be grateful for all the friendships I’ve made through this sport.

Q: What is your favourite water polo memory?

A: Scoring in a shoot out against CAMO in Montreal at the 2018 National Championships. I remember holding hands with all of my teammates during the shoot out and being so excited when we won.

Q: What made you want to be a coach?

A: My coaches have made a huge impact on who I am as a person and an athlete. Having such great mentoring has made me determined to be a great mentor for children and to pursue a career in teaching!

Q: Who was your most influential coach?

A: Raine has made my water polo experience so precious, challenging and rewarding. Raine led me to my first National Championships and always pushed me to 110%. Thanks Raine!

Q: Who is an athlete you admire?

A: Connor McDavid. I admire how fast and  game-smart he is. Being quick is important in any sport, as well as having a good sense of the game and what is going on around you.
