Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic the Riptides Water Polo Club has always prioritized the health and safety of our athletes, coaches and families. While this is a difficult and unprecedented time for us all, over the past year we have seen our club unite and support each other as we navigate through this ever-changing  landscape.

Riptides has taken a variety of precautions to ensure a safe training environment for our teams such as non-cohort training, equipment sanitation, contact tracing and face masks (see below). We will continue to closely monitor the situation and send regular and clear communication to our families.

SAFETY MEASURES

EQUIPMENT SANITATION

Equipment is fully sanitized after each practice by our coaches. Athletes are also each assigned equipment for practice which is not shared with teammates.

CONTACT TRACING

Athletes must complete a COVID-19 screening checklist before each practice. Athletes are only allowed to practice should they pass the screening.

FACE MASKS

All coaches are either double vaccinated or masked at all times. Athletes are encouraged to wear masks before and after practices should they feel more comfortable

REGULAR UPDATES

With a constantly changing landscape, Riptides closely monitors provincial and regional health guidelines to ensure we are following the most up-to-date protocols.
