Q & A with Coach Kamryn
Q: How did you first start playing water polo?
A: Some of my swim friends played water polo and convinced me to join their team.
Q: What is it about water polo that made you fall in love with the sport?
A: I love that it’s a team sport and that’s it’s in the pool. I also love to compete.
Q: What is your favourite water polo memory?
A: When I went to Junior Olympics we played one of our games when the sun was setting and we ended up going into shootout. I just loved playing in the outdoor pools and the atmosphere was incredible. It was a great experience.
Q: What made you want to be a coach?
A: I want to teach kids about the sport I love. I also think that sports are extremely important for kids and I think they should be able to enjoy sports just as much as I do.
Q: Who was your most influential coach?
A: My first coach Tim because he got me into water polo and gave me many opportunities he also took lots of time to help me. But I also think my coach Taylor because she has given me lots of technical skills and has showed me what I can do with water polo and all the opportunities that await.
Q: Who is an athlete you admire?
A: I admire Maggie Steffens. She played in the 2024 Paris Olympics on team USA.
